| His coat is driving me nuts. I can't figure it out. I am having the worst time figuring out groomers, brushing, and coats. The groomers I have taken Percy to have not been much help. I can not figure out how to keep his coat nice. It looks silky and wonderful right after a bath and brushing, but as soon as he starts to walk, it looks stringy and out of place. I am using a slicker brush and a metal pin comb on him. I have asked groomers and gotten a different answer every time on which is proper. Also, is it ok to comb them out when they are dry? I have gotten mixed answers on this as well. Since I am not sure, I spray him with detangler every time, and am wondering if this is making his coat worse. What is the best to use between baths for brushing? Not a brand per say, what type of spray? I can't tell if he is a cotton coat, or wiry coat. My hubby says he is silky, and he def is very very silky on his head, but his body is only silky is brushed a lot. Otherwise it gets scragly. I personally think it is coarse, but am overly picky. His hair reminds me a lot of my own. Gets tangled easy. There is no curl to it though. As of right now in my "arsonal" I have several different kinda of shampoo, conditioner, fur butter, finishing spray, and buddy splash. Do I only use finishing spray after baths? And can I use the buddy splash everyday as a detangler? Or is there something else? I am sorry for the questions/rant it is just driving me nuts at this point. As you might have guessed, I just got done brushing him.

| You should try Cranberry Fields Shampoo/Conditioner........I could not believe the difference it made on Cuddles. They are so soft, smooth & shiny. I do think it would help you w/ the coat. Blessings |

| I have one of each, cotton coat and silky coat! This is what use: For the cotton coat- I use Plush puppy shampoo and conditioner. Then when combing out her coat, I spray her lightly with seabreeze oil also made by Plush puppy. It makes her coat shine and keeps it from drying out. I use a very small amount daily when I comb her out. For the silky coat: I use Chris Christensen Shampoo and conditioner, then when combing her out, I spray on crown royal grooming spray. I use the grooming spray every morning when I comb her out. Keeps her coat from drying out and keeps her soft and shiney This is what works for me, hope it helps |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i have a cotton coat girl too and when i used the seabreeze oil on her it makes her super greasy no matter what the amount i put on her so i stopped using it. i haven't found anything that works really well on her coat yet so like you i'm still looking. i wish i could just strip the cotton right off her coat and have it be silky LOL

| I'm a groomer - and I know you've gotten all kinds of advice from groomers but I can tell you that I found a product that is amazing!! Since I started using it on my clients they order it for themselves to use at home. It leaves the coats clean, shiny and they seem to stay cleaner longer. The product is Quadruped quadrupedpetcare.com They make products for all hair types. On Yorkies I use the Protein shampoo. If I need a conditioner I use the Silky conditioner. This stuff is amazing! It smells great, helps keep mats and tangles from forming and makes combing them easier. Just make sure you blow dry your pups hair to encourage the sheen. Then just brush out hair. You can put a finishing spray on but if you have a oily coat stay dont use this. I HIGHLY recommend these products - if you call their 800# and tell them Tangled Knot Grooming gave you the info he will send samples to you. This guy is so nice - will explain products and help you find the perfect shampoo for your dog!! Best of luck!
