What type of brush? We just got an 8 week old Yorkie... what is the best type of brush to use on his fur without damaging it?

Alot of people use Chris Christensen brushes. Do a google search and you will find his website. They are on the expensive side. If you don't want to spend that much on a brush, you can really use ANY brush as long as it passes "the test." Get any brush taht you are thinking about using and run it up and down the inside of your arm. If it makes white scratches on your arm, then it is not gentle enough to use on your baby. If it DOESN'T make white scratches, then it is gentle enough to use on your baby. Just be prepared bc they all hate getting brushed at first. But don't give up and keep working with him and he will eventually learn to like getting brushed. WELCOME to YORKIETALK!

Most any little inexpensive brush will do on the puppy coat, but when they have the long adult coat you may want to get a slicker brush and a metal comb. That's all I ever use. The slicker is the only thing that can get out those mats without pulling on the hair. Works great!
