| Nail polish... Was wondering if this is considered safe for dogs, if it is DRIED and the dog doesn't have a habit of chewing its nails. I know they make OPI Paw-lish for dogs, but was looking stuff up online and found out that apparently it's no different than regular 'human' nail polish other than it dries quicker. Someone came in to the clinic today with a Chihuahua with pink nails and they said they felt ripped off when they bought the Opi which had the same ingredients as some other 99cent 'quick dry' kind. And apparently with the Opi kind, they had to apply more than one coat which required the dog to stay still even longer... Just wondering how many people here actually paint their dogs nails. We see a few here and there at the clinic but typically just on poodles and other little poofy dogs. I can't find any info anywhere on the toxicity of the flakes after it's dried.. from what I've gathered online its no worse than anything else they can randomly scrounge up off the ground, lol. |

| Nail polish does not seem to bother dogs, years ago we used to always paint dogs nails. I am not sure it is worth it to try and paint yorkies nails with all the hair there, I think it would be a big mess. But if you have a big desire to do something like this you could use a nylon over the foot so the nails stick out and polish and let dry. Seems like way to much work for me. Painting short hair dogs and poodles is much easier. Any polish seems fine and I have use all kinds, but a fast drying one would be best. Owner Best Friends Pet Salon Salem Oregon |
