| No way should she cut your dog! I just shaved my yorkie today. Okay I didn't give him a bath because I was just going to trim him where he mats with his harness. I ended up shaving his whole body. I spent an hour on him today. I was going to take my dog to Petsmart but I watched a groomer shave a shihtzu and she made him jump and she wasn't too kind to the dog. I think you were right to be upset. |

| yeah well i thought so, and the cuts were deep enough to scab. hes ok i called the vet he just said to watch for licking and biting which he hasnt done but he said as long as they heal then hes ok but still and this lady (let me remind you i understand people haev hard times and then straightnen up and get their life going) but this lady looked very unprofessional, she was all dirty looking like she took any job she could get. so i heard they have a neat pet boutique near me in the next town i may take him for a day at a doggie spa just to show him a good time. but yeah i didnt think she should have cut him.

| oh my! Miss Kimber is due for her first professional groom and the only reason I'm not worried about it is b/c my neighbour owns a grooming shop in town and is highly recommended. That is absolutely horrible what she did to your baby! I would call someone in corporate and have her fired! Obviously a dog is going to be squirmy! IT IS THERE JOB to do it properly! Sheesh! I hope your pupp is okay!

| Hes Ok He Just Has Scabs, Yeah The Dumb Lady Was Sitting Down And The Other One Was Holding My Pup By His Front Legs. I Wrote A Letter To The Main Office In Town And I Got Their Corporate Address. Poor Baby And You Know I Was Getting Ready To Bathe Him And I Rolled Him On His Back To Look At His Matts And Scabs And He Just Layed There And Let Me Cut His Matts Out, Since Im Scraed Of Clippers Especially After What All Ready Happened To Him So I Cut Them Out And He Didnt Wiggle One Time. He Usually Doesnt. Dumb People They Need To Go Brush Their Teeth.

| YEP - I agree.... I think I would have had to punch the lady!! - Daisy just got her first hair cut...at Petsmart...but they were really nice ... told me that for her first time... they would just trim her up - this would get her used to the scissors and clippers...and they would clean her ears and clip her toenails.. and it only costs $15 so that wasn't too bad.... and she looked good...I don't think she enjoyed any of it...but it did turn out ok for her first time. BUT - had they cut her - O M G - they would have had one angry woman to deal with....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - I hope he's gonna be ok..... |

| NO NO CUTTING!!!!!!!!! I trim Teddy, Tiffanie and Sir. Galahad every time they need it...I even did all 4 of my baby puppies from our 1st litter's ears, paw pads and bottoms...I never once cut or scratched any of them!! And my babies did wiggle a lot until they got use to it! If she used trimmers with a blade on it then she shouldn't of did that! And when I trim around their ears with scissors I use my fingers around them to get the tips done even, I NEVER just trim around their ears without my fingers being there that way if they do move and yep they do move some it's my fingers cut not their ears! I hate to see this done to babies!! I would of grabbed him and said that's it LADY!!! I would of been so mad!! Now I wonder if he'll be scared anytime anyone trys to trim him again? Hope not! So Sorry this had to happen to him and U! Hugs, Lee and Babies |

| I'm going to play devils advocate.... It's not easy shaving a matted dog... When I first got Charlie he was matted to the skin. I grabbed the clippers and had at it the second I got him home.... The mats pull on the skin and when the clippers is trying to cut the hair it can pull the skin up into the teeth. Maybe that's what happened... |

| If the groomer knew what she was doing and was using the proper equipment it would be almost impossible to scratch the dog with clippers. Where were these scratches? For those who say they cut out matts with sissors instead of clippers you are actually more likely to cut your dog. You won't find a groomer cutting matts out with sissors.

| yeah i just took care of it myself, i got out the clippers and he freaked so i got out the scissors i use to cut hair and he just layed there, so i just cut them out but i found it much easier as the sound of the clippers were scaring him.

| We shaved Rocky before and didn't cut him. You gotta be patient when grooming them. When I'm giving Rocky a trim it takes a couple hours, just because he'll sit still and let me trim for awhile, then he's gotta run around, or wiggle or whatever it is. It's not like you just hold the dog and shave all at once. I'm glad you didn't pay her! Good for you!

| I have been using clippers on my dogs and have not cut them and I am a total amateur. In my opinion a professional groomer should be able to work with a matted dog and not cut them. When I find a matt, I use scissors, but I put a wedge a comb between the skin and the matt first and use tiny sharp scissors. It has worked really well for me.

| Thats awful. I have heard people say to never take you pets to those places. I feel so bad for him. When I read that it made me mad and sad. I got Abigail groomed once and I dropped her off that morning before I went to school, and when I got out I picked her up. Maybe there is a groomer in town that you can do that with. I don't get my girl's groomed I do it all myself bc I trying to let them have full coats. My family has a shih tzu and we keep him in a puppy coat. I do around his face, and mom shaves him with the clippers and we have never cut him like that.

| Grooming NO way should u dog have been cut up like that. I have 2 yorkies & i always take them to the groomers at Petsmart. I have never had my dogs come back cut up or mistreated in any way. Don't ever bring your dog back there, i suggest going somewhere else, look around first, by visiting the groomers first then decide if you want them to cut your dogs hair. I am fortunate to have found a groomer that i like and that my 2 dogs like. |
