| puppy cuts Emma's hair is a little on the thin side, would a puppy cut look okay on her? Also, she's kinda long and skinny..what kind of cut would yall recommend so she looks a little fluffier? And what kind of cut would make her face look rounder? I'm a first timer, and she'll be due for grooming soon. Thanks! |

| Well shoot, I'm not going to be much help but I'll give it a shot. How old is Emma? Some dogs don't get their full coat until they're 2. I have two thick coat yorkies and one thin coat. I keep the 2 boys' thick coats cut in puppy cuts and it's cute and fluffy. I had Gracie's thin coat cut in a puppy cut and truthfully I didn't like it. It seems like it's very hard to make a thin, silky coat look fluffy. I keep Gracie's fur long and I like it much better. Good luck!

| She's a cutie! If it was me (and it's not, I know ) I'd wait until at least a year to see how her coat comes in but it really just comes down to personal preference. I love the full coats on silky coated yorkies.

| LOL, I prefer shorter cuts just because I'm a college student. So the less I have to groom her, the better =) Anyone else have any more suggestions? I'd love to hear em! |

| Maybe you can try a shorter body with longer hair on the legs and a round face. I wish I had a pic to describe what Im talking about but I cant find one. I groom a few of my clients yorkies this way. Kinda gives the appearance of longer hair but its shorter and easier to maintain

| I was actually thinking about that, but didn't know how it would look. I'd just like her to look "fuller". She just looks long and skinny. |

| I am thinking of my Kaya, too, with the silky hair. It seems so thin. I tried the thickener from CC and it didn't help much, if at all. For now I am just letting her hair grow out. I see it is changing to a silvery color. I just trim around her tootsies and eyes myself for now. I trimmed along her sides, too, to try to get it more even after her spay shave started growing back in. Other than that, I don't know what to do either. Tinka, on the other hand has so much hair I could sell it! I just had her cut in a puppy cut and she looks just like a Wookie from Star Wars! LOL Her face looks a little funny, but she is SO much easier to groom, etc... omega |

| Ferdinand has a thinner coat - we've only had him groomed once, and I chose to go with the puppy cut. I hated it at first, but when it started growing back a little bit I like it more. They cut his coat on his body to 1" - it's about 1.5" now and looks good (to me anyway, but everyone has their own preference).

| I have always thought that this was a cute cut, although I've never done it...
