| Dog smell? Okay, I was just reading about how often to bathe ay orkie...and many of you replied to a poster's question by saying the doggie smell may be coming from the dog food. Kayla does not get any table food and eats Eukanuba dog food and treats. What types of food do NOT cause the smell? Kayla is going on day 3 after her bath and she smells like a full blown DOG (granted she is one but...) What should I do? |

| First off, Welcome to YT! I'm from MO too! 2nd, I'm not sure about the smell. One of my dogs seems to be super smelly and the other isn't. I feed Royal Canin.

| I have read somewhere that you can put parsley flakes in their water or sprinkle over thier food. It is supposed to be good for smelly poop and bad breath. I have tried it but keep forgetting to use it everyday.

| If your dog is that stinky he may have a very slight skin infection or may need his anal glands expressed, both can make a dog very stinky. Debbie Ray www.sumtoiyorkies.com owner Best Friends Pet Salon Salem Oregon |

I feed Royal Canine and Cesars. I use Crazy Dog brand, baby dog shampoo. I bathe once a week. Mine are sometimes smelly when they come in from outside. But after they are in for a while it goes away. Not sure what causes that. Have you tried using a dog calogne. Crazy dog also makes a baby dog spray that smells like baby powder. Also, how often do you wash her bedding. | |

| Sometimes the smell can come from their ears, so make sure you clean the ears and pluck the ear hair. Also brushing teeth daily helps with doggy breath! I use Cloud Star Buddy Wash & Rinse and it smells like lavender. He gets a bath every 7-10 days, or anytime he goes to doggie daycare because I'm allergic to other kinds of dogs and they slobber all over him! I feed Canidae. Be careful with Eukanuba because it has corn as the main ingredient - which can make your baby itch and it mostly ends up in your yard! Also, Loki doesn't get that "doggie" smell that some dogs get. When he needs a bath it's because he's peed on his feet (silly boy) or I need to shampoo his face. I keep him super short (especially his belly & butt) and clean his eyes/face every day but after a week it starts to get crusty and I need to wash his head. Since I'm already washing his feet and head, I just give him a bath
