| How often do you bath your Yorkie.. I have to give Pepper a bath 2-3 times a week to keep her hair from looking oily and to help with the doggy smell.. I am not sure why she has such a strong odor but she does. .. Just wondering if I'm the only one washing every other day Wendy |

| I bathe mine once a week. If you bathe them too much their skin can dry out. They have scented sprays you can use to make them smell good. What I do is when I brush them I spray them down with a little bit of water and then when they dry I spray them down with a spray. This seems to work for me. What are you feeding your baby? It could be the food that makes your baby smell. It also could be the shampoo you use. I just got Pet Silk and it smells awesome and I noticed that they smell longer after their bath. It's also working great on their coat. Try using something else. After trying different products you will find what works best for you. |

| Timmy gave great advice. Too many baths can cause the skin to dry out too. I have an oily stinker too. I think it is the diet too. My husband will feed him whatever he is eating (within reason) But they all get baths only on Mondays unless they get in mud or something like that. You can get pet colognes and sprays to stop the smell until next bath time.

| I give Sully a bath once a week.....well I wait until he "smells" and then I give him a bath. Last time, I waited 2 weeks (then he really needed it, peww-wee) but this past time I waited about a week and a half. I'd give him more, but like the other members said, it will dry out their skin.

| I bathe Jake about once a week, I many let him go two weeks. A bath 2-3 times a week is way too much. Yorkies shouldn't have a doggy odor. I could be his diet or maybe his anal glands that is causing the smell. I had that problem with my Lhasa that i had years ago the vet recommended a spray that fixed the problem right away. I hope this helps. |

| I've been giving Kona a bath between 1 and 2 times per week. It all depends on her activity level for that week. I bought the Chris Christensen Day to Day shampoo and conditioner so I figured it would be okay to sometimes give her a bath 2 times per week. |

| I'm a 1-2 times a week bather. I keep saying that Monday is going to be bath day and the first Monday of the month will be bath and groom day but most of the time I don't make it a full week. I'm using CC and I do like it but they just don't smell or look as fresh as I like after a few days. I have 2 different doggie colognes, one I got tired of really fast and the other fades within an hour. I think I'm going to try Petsilk next and see if that makes a difference. I don't see how it could be their diet. They eat Nutro Ultra and Merrick and maybe some leftover veggies occasionally. |

| Every Sunday is bath day. They get their teeth brushed, bathed, any hair that needs trimming gets trimmed, I don't usually have to do toenails because they play on my concrete patio. Then they get weighed and get pictures taken. |

| I bathe Lola every 7-9 days, which she seems to think is way too much! I'm still trying to get her use to the bath....she doesn't start to have that "doggie smell" until about day 7-8 though |
