| My Pixie's thin hair..... My poor Pixie has the thinnest hair and is turning silver, she's 13 weeks old. What can I do to make her hair thicker, her brother who is the same age has thick black hair and a tiny bit of silver on his head, but Pixie looks a little bald :/ also, where can I buy coconut oil? And what kind?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I really wouldn't supplement, she may just have a silky coat which is thinner than a cotton coat. If you are feeding a good dog food, it should have all the vitamins minerals and other nutrients needed for proper hair growth. The silver is a clue that she will have the classic silk coat, it's really beautiful and so much easier to care for than a cotton coat. Giving too much oil even a "good" oil can though the whole diet off. It's true, we do need some fat in the diet to have healthy hair, but a quality dog food already contains that. Pixie is a doll!

| My little girl Zip is 14 weeks and her hair is a little thin. It's also a little wiry. When I read that indicates a silky coat it made me feel better. I'm almost to the point of giving her a haircut to get the puppy black off the ends because I can see the silver underneath. I wouldn't worry about it. She is too young to really see the adult coat. I read on here they have 3 different coats by the time they are 3yr old. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Youre in fort hood right? I get my coconut oil at the commissary on base it's about $6 and lasts a long time since a little goes a long way. I get the Spectrum brand which is extra virgin organic. You can get the oil at pretty much any grocery store or beauty supply...I've even seen it at Sam's club in a big tub. I would just make sure to get extra virgin organic :-) |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Pixie is adorable. It looks to me like the others said she may just have a silky coat. Which is a good thing. My Pixie has a silky thinner coat, but it is so pretty and easy to care for. I didn't get her until she was 13 months old so I don't know what her puppy coat was like.
