| Matts-- Help!! Zoey tends to have 'eye boogers' and so far we've been good about getting her hair cleaned before they become a problem.. However, she suddenly has 2 huge mats of hair in her beard (beneath her eyes) and so far nothing I've tried is getting them out.. Short of cutting them, do you have any ideas? I am half thinking it's partly b/c she decided to chew up a puppy pad (why, Zoey, why?!) which had adhesive on the back that helps it stick down to the floor. I'm wondering if she doesn't have that adhesive in her hair.. UGH!! Help!! |

| My groomer suggests baby powder since many pups can be allergic to corn.

| Please be careful, since it's so close to her eye...even a comb can poke it accidentally if she moves suddenly. I'm not sure if she'll let you 'work it out', that area is very sensitive to them. I would get a blunt nosed scissor from the beauty supply store (small manicure scissor) & snip it off. Have someone hold her so she won't make sudden movements. It won't look bald & will grow back. If she won't let you do it, you can take her to the vet or groomer & have them cut/shave it off.

| A tip when cutting mats....always slip a comb between the mat and the pup's skin so that you don't nick the pup.

| May I suggest Earthbath eyewipes? It may help soften it so you can get a comb thru it. We use these all the times on a daily basis for our 3. They really help keep their eyes clean and clear!
