| First Bath I just gave Ellington his first bath...well shower! yey! I stood him at the bottom of the shower, and he didn't really try and move much. I gave him little treats occasionally, and started with just wetting his back with a flannel. He didn't seem too bothered by the water, so I kept going, getting his body wet. I added some shampoo and lathered up his back. Again he was fine, gave him a treat, and moved to his head. I then moved on to using the actual shower head to rinse the bubbles off. He was fine, and I was even able to get all of the dried in food that was on his chin. Drying him was a bit more of a mission. He went a little mad, trying to dry his face, but did allow him to rub him with a towel. I tried to blowdry him, and although the noise didn't make him flinch, he just didn't like it. So he's now damp, but smelling much nicer! |

| that is awesome...on thing i might suggest is to be sure to put cotton balls in his ears so water doesnt get in. just incase so that he doenst get a infection. i put them in all my babies ears before i bath them in the sink. and maybe you did that but just incase. glad he was good for his bath. i use a super small size blow dryer and put it on low cause cedric hates the blow dryer...but if i put a lil towel over his head and dry the rest of him he likes it better. not sure why but him and princess both like this...neither of them like their head dried i assume cause they dont like the air hitting their face. =*(())

| I wrap my two in a large thick towel quick before they can shake- and kind of squeeze them out (gentle, of course!) then wrap in a smaller dry towel and hug and fuss over them. I put a thick towel on the floor and they finish up the dry themselves with a crazy rollover wiggle. (neither of them tangle so the rubbing is fine, no dryers as it is usually warm enough here) If you have a very fine tooth comb you can clean up the face while it is still wet and soapy. Rinsing well is almost more important than wash! Ziva gets little bumps if the least soap is left behind (behind ears, armpits, base of tail...) |
