Senior Yorkie Talker | Cotton coat breakage help. :( It looks like my baby Amara has breakage in her hair. I don't know what to do. I bathe her about once a week. Depending on how dirty she is. Sometimes twice a week. But I only use natural shampoos. I think she also has a cotton coat. But she is only eight months old. I'm not sure what do do. I've been trying to find a shampoo for her hair type. I have tried. Pure Paws. Wahl. Biogroom. Oster Oatmeal Animal Care extra soothing shampoo and dermasilk conditioner. Yorkie Splash and Shine. I'm thinking about going back to Yorkie Splash and Shine or trying it again. Her coat is still changing so much. I think I need to invest in a brush too. Its close to income tax time and I plan to get alot of things for my little baby. Not the cheap stuff either. She deserves the best. But if anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated. I've been reading some old posts about Pet Silk, Iv San Bernard, and Wampum. I'm willing to try these brands. At least try them. Hopefully they have some samples. But I'm not sure. If anyone could help please do. Thanks

| I have tried so many shampoos and conditioners for my Bogie who is pure cotton and had horrible mats if not brushed two to three times a day. I have a huge cabinet full of product..from Iv San Bernard to Chris Christensen,Minksheen,Yorkie Splash and Shine and I like all of those. My mom took her Biewer Jazzy to a groomer back in October and loved the way her coat looked and smelled and asked what she used. It was the Top Performance Fresh Pet. My mom and I went in half and bought the gallon of condition and shampoo which is concentrated and makes 8 gallons of each when mixed with water I haven't posted about it because I wanted to use it several months before I made a recommendation for it. I can say I have been truly amazed. It makes Jada and Bogie so shiny and they smell so clean and fresh for days. But the most amazing thing is Bogie, I keep his body shaved because of matting, but his legs I leave long and they would normally mat, especially because he wears clothing every day. I can honestly say that I only have to brush and comb his legs out about twice a week and never have mats. His hair feels like pure silk now. I highly recommend this product. I would only buy the smaller sizes to try if it were me, because you never know how your baby will do with it. Amazon.com: Top Performance Fresh Pet Shampoo -... Amazon.com: Top Performance Fresh Pet Conditioner...

Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm so confused. I don't know what to do. I think I will try pet silk conditioning silk shampoo and conditioner or the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner along with pek conditioner. Maybe. I'm thinking so hard. I'm getting panicky.

| What are you using to brush her? If it is actually hair breakage, i would first look at quality of the combs/brushes. If using any plastic bristles or ball end type pin brushes, i would stop that first. Also, are you brushing her hair when dry or damp? Anotjer thing to consider, its puppy coat growing out. Three things (imho) contribute to quality of coat: Genetics Nutrition care of coat (type brushes and shampoos/conditionets

| This is good info.. guess I should change shampoos for my cotton ball Daisy. Tessa, not so much a concern but surly she could benefit from the extra sheen and softness. Thanks! |
