| On average, if there is such a thing... How fast does a Yorkies fur/hair grow? Like humans, I am sure its different. Does it grow a bit faster once you start to cut it? Bobbi

| I don't know what the rule of thumb is... probably like humans, some grow hair faster than others. But I'm sure it's like pretty much everything else, the faster we want it to happen, the longer it takes

| ZoE's hair is super slooooowwww growing. It's beautifully silky though...but so slow to grow. She's a year old and it's only about 5 inches long. Of course, I love full coats....if I liked puppy cuts on yorkies, you know darn well it would be floor length...

I agree, it depends on the dog and the coat. If I recall correctly, silk hair tends to grow slower than cotton coats, but there are very silk yorkies who can still put out a lot of coat fast. My 2 boys are brothers and their hair grows at different rates.

Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | I think it varies from dog to dog. My Gidget's hair probably grows faster than all of mine. I have to cut at least half inch from the ground every month or she trips. |
