| How big is your pup's topknot? I think pictures of yorkies are the worst for me to interpret size. Everyone's pups look like they have these thick, luscious locks & Princess's knot is very thin. It's not long but we're working on that-I just wonder if it's really thin? It's about as thick as a 2-3 letter long word on here I'm guessing. We can't use those tiny scrunchies or goodie bands as I can't get them tight enough. How about your baby? And am I supposed to have all of the hair in front in it? I mainly have the middle of her eyes & back some and the other front hair goes to the sides. Here are a couple pics. She kind of looks a mess but I've been grooming her minimally to avoid irritating her already irritated skin right now.

YT 1000 Club Member | I love Princess' top knot and she is such a darling. I wish Romeo would let me put his hair in a knot :-( He'll let me comb and massage him as much as I like but as soon as he sees the clips or bands he scoots off.

| Princess is such a cutie!!! ZoE is 10 months olds this week and her topknot is about the same thickness. I have to use really TINY bands to hold her hair in a topknot. I gather everything between her ears, forward ..and keep the lines to the side inline with the inside of her ears...if that makes sense.. But, she still has short pieces above her eyes that are too short to go back into the topknot, so they just hang around until they grow long enough. I've only trimmed her ears, feet & hygiene area so far...she's just so slow in growing her coat out...and of course, I LOVE yorkies in full coats, so it's trying my patience.

| OMG Princess you are too cute! I love the 3rd pic, she's like "Hmmmmmm?" Anyway, Uni's topknot is pathetic. Worse than Princess's. And her's is long too! With all the hair around her eyes, no short ones! Plus I take some hair from behind the ears! I'm sure once all of Princess's hair grows out she will have a decent one. That's part of the reason why I never do her topknot, it's an embarrassment!

| Mina is kept in a short clip, except for her topknot. The only hair that I have cut off of it is about 1/16 the last time I clipped her. I am starting to let the hair from the outer corners of her eyes grow out to add to her topknot. She does still have eyebrows just above her eyes. She is 9mos so her topknot is black and various shades of grey,it still looks like a tiny palm tree. I love the pics of Princess, she has alot of expression. |

No Longer a Member | Rizzo's topknot is very thin, but it's starting to get really long. I'd say is almost 4 inches long, but I have to use the goody bands wrapped around approx 5 times to be tight enough to hold his hair, but not too tight that it's breaking it. Princess is adorable! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali and Roxie's are pretty thick but they have thick cottony coats. Nikki's was real thin as he has a very thin silky coat. I recently cut it off as it was always falling forward and at a about 19 years old I though it was time he didn't have to deal with one.

| Here is my Ch. Trey (1st photo) and Cici (2nd photo) with their topknot. It takes time and years to grow, but you can do it. I even had to braid Cici's topknot in the back, since it was so long. Last edited by topknot; 10-04-2011 at 02:51 PM. |

| The first pic is Jada's topknot hair after a bath and the second one is after I braided it. She had bad allergies last summer and scratched a lot of her topknot hair out, and I haven't cut it since. I usually use the goody's terry scrunchies and I wrap them around three times to hold her topknot in. Same for the bands I usually have to wrap them three times. I just take the hair from the corners of her eyes and between her ears for the topknot. Photo09101603 (400x240).jpg Photo09101609 (400x300).jpg ps....Princess is a little doll and her topknot is just too cute. How old is she? Jada is almost 5 and I have just trimmed her topknot a few times in the last 2.5 years.

| Aw....Princess and her little topknot are to cute...just adorable! I love her sweet little face and her happy go lucky look She's beautiful. I put small scrunchies in to hold Zhoie's topknot for daily around the house wear or I use the small bands if we are going out. Both are wrapped 3 times to hold.
