| Help! Hello, I just joined YT, I have an 8 month old male named Coco Puffs. Just today I got him groomed and since his fur was so matted they shaved it all off , he doesn't even look like a yorkie anymore! Does anyone know if there is anything I can do, such as food or vitamins that will make his fur grow back healthy and faster?? Please let me know I feel so bad for him and want his fur to grow back asap. Thanks |

| Welcome to YT. Your pup's hair will grow back relatively fast. If he is doing well on his current food, I personally wouldn't change his diet or play with supplements. You can encourage hair growth with daily brushing and combing and massage to stimulate the hair follicles, and to prevent matting and the need to cut again.

| Was this your babies first groom? If yes, then what was tangled was probably alot of baby hair. As your babies hair grows back you will need to develope a regular brushing routine. My babies hair stays short so I dont deal with alot of tangles. She is 8months old. |

| Thanks! This was the first time, my profile pic is of him about two months ago that's about how long I wish it would grow back. I bought a metal comb for him and am willing to brush it everyday so he never has to be shaved down! |

YT Addict | The same thing happened with my Abby. It was a shock. But she is cold and always has clothes on. I had her done over 4th of July and right now her hair has only grown about a half inch or so. But her coat is just beautiful. Silky and doesn't tangle. So I am hoping it was just baby fur that created all these tangles in the first place. I am sure it will come back by the real winter months. Be patient and keep in the brushing routine even though they don't really need it, but it will keep puppy used to the routine. That's what I am doing maybe someone else will be able to give tips on how to grow it faster. |

| I agree with Maximo. Are you open to brush recommendations? We love love love our Madan brush. I loved it so much, I stole it from my pup and use it for myself. I bought it when I was attempting to grow out his coat. A long soft coat is not a good idea! My pup was tangled and miserable the entire time. He's kept short now, and I use the Insinis boar brush on his hair, and the Madan mustache comb. Don't worry about the hair growth. It will come back, and will probably be better than his puppy coat. As far as clothes go, clothes help create matts. If you're going to dress him often, a shorter coat is best. If you're going to dress him while his hair grows out, just remember to brush the chest and under the front legs. That's where I found most of the matts on my little one. You can find clothes anywhere really. Lots of good YT vendors, Target, Petsmart, Petco, Ross, old navy use to have nice clothes, you can make baby onesies into clothes, and there are lots more options.

| There is a member here who sells them, Jenny. Her screen name is Mimimomo, and she has a website toplinepet.com She is very helpful. There are different Madan brushes for different coats. I bought the black one because it is firmer, and my pup has a thicker, soft coat (people call this a cottony coat) that tangles often. She sells the combs too. PM her and she will help you find the right brush for your pup. The other brush I use I bought off Amazon.com. It might sound excessive to have 2 brushes and a comb for 1 dog, but his coat requires the extra work. A nice silk coat is easier to manage.

| Mina HATES brushes of ANY kind. I can use a comb on her but,go near her with a brush and she will cry and fight. I use a comb and she just lays there. My pom is the same way. |
