| Sorry about so many links, but here are the pictures ! I can't upload pictures on Yorkietalk so I have to put links. These are step by step pictures of how I make a ''shih tzu topknot'' as I call it (it isnt just used in shih tzus, but almost all breeds that have hair over their eyes ) This one is my favorite topknot ! I use it almost always on Fido ! you can also use bows with this one etc. but when I use so many colors I dont put bows Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting At first I groom him and part the coat , I always have a spray bottle of conditioner and water mixed together by my hand cause I dont want to brush the coat totally dry It also removes static if you spray a little over the hair now and then when you are doing something with the hair. Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting Then I take the first lock of hair, and band it with a plastic band (I dont use elastics with this kinda topknot, then this will just be a mess ! Remember to cut the bands out with scissors not rip them out, if you rip them out then youll break the hair). Remember to part it well, I always make the first 2 locks almost like a triangle in the shape, watch out for not taking eyelashes with you in the band, cause then it will irritate the dog ! Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting Then I put a plastic band the other one too Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting Then I take another lock , I make him like box shaped and when its almost perfect I put a plastic band on that too, dont take too much or too little hair at a time and try to make it as perfect as you can so it wont irritate the dog. Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting It should look like this, then I do the same with the other one Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting The outcome should be something like this ! If the dog has little hair on his head then you could stop when you are at this point (I did it at first when Fido has less hair), but when it has so much hair that it goes into the water and such its best to do 6 og 8 ''boxes'' not just 4, thats what I think and what I do Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting Then just to the dame thing again ! this is SO easy! Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting This is the last step, to put the pink ones in (I just used pink plastic bands this time, I love all those neon colors together), when I put the pink ones in I take the hair from the back of the head (end of the skull), and you have to watch out for not taking ear hair with you cause then it will irritate and even hurt the dog a little. Also, watch out for stretching the ''skin'' before and after you put each plastic band in the hair ! so it wont be too tight, if that is not done it could stretch the eyes and be really uncomfy for the dog, but if you do that the dog will love this cause he can see so well and clear no hair over his eyes ! Fido loves this kinda topknot.

| I forgot two pictures: Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting In the end this should look like this. Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting Doesnt he look cute like this ? Also if the dog has much beard you can put one on each side, just have it loose enough to not irritate the dog ! Sorry I spelled one thing wrong on the other post, couldnt edit it ! ''then just the dame thing again'' I said, it should be ''then just the SAME thing again'' lol !

I just ban Fido to move when im doing his hair, he knows he's not alowed to move, I find it the best to just sit in the sofa or in my bed and do his hair with his head on my leg, If i let him lay on the table or besides me then this takes forever ! And he always moves then Fido most often just falls asleep when I do this At first when I did this it took about a half an hour ! But that was nothing like when I first wrapped a yorkie, then the poor thing had to stand still for about 3 hours !
