| How short can I cut my Yorkies hair? I bought the clippers, totally messed up his hair trying to do a "lion cut". Now that its been a few weeks his hair is just all different lengths and he looks crazy, lol. what would be the closest I could cut it without him looking like a complete mess? lol. Oh and I forgot he is a little 4 month old puppy. He can't go to a groomer until he has all his shots and he has had kennel cough since I bought him, so he wont be going to groomer anytime soon....any suggestions would be GREAT. Thank You SOOOO much |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I had the groomer cut Jillie's body real short when she was still a pup. She's sort of a tomboy, and her puppy hair turned into a matted mess. She looked like a different dog after the cut, but I was pleased. And it grew right out. Here are some before and after pics of that short cut. And the long-haired silver version is her today.

I agree you can cut shorter and it will still grow out just fine.

| He is very active, and he gets into EVERYTHING!! Brushing his hair is a huge task, with him trying to chew the brush and wiggling everywhere. I am trying to keep him clean but its very hard when he is so small. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Yep, I can relate. Everyone busted my chops when I decided to cut her short, but I was delighted. And once her adult hair came it, it was much easier to take care of because it was silkier.

| Yay!!! Well I cut Texas's hair last night! and it looks WAY better... I will try to put a picture up if he stays still long enough, lol. It took three people to keep him busy while I did it. Treats kept him still, and I cut everything but his tail, legs, and head. He is so cute!! I love him... |

| I use a #8 on the body and something shorter. However while sitting on the back porche this evening I took comb and scissors (very small scissors),ran my fingers through Mina's hair and just cut her hair finger width high. I went up her back and sides, then across from hip to hip and side to side. I cut her legs a little shorter. I will do her tummy, feet, neck and face tomarrow. She has no more baby hair. She has gone from black this morning to silver. Mina is 6 months old and I just take my time with alot of breaks. |
