| Knots, knots and more knots What is the best product to use to get out knots and mats? The vet had to shave Noahs neck for his IV. Where his bandages were, it rubbed the hair around his neck and has caused lots of little knots and mats. Some of them are very close to the skin and I can't even get a comb under them, and even when I try to gently comb him, he acts like I am hurting him. This isn't his silky hair either, it's that fluffy, puffy, adorable puppy fur. Help!

| PEK by IV San Bernard is really good but it's not a miracle worker. It will get out knots but not a full blow mat, at least that has been my experience. It does work really good on a cottony coat.... |

| There are lots of detanglers you can get. I am using Isles of Dogs right now. Another thing is what type of comb/brush are you using? I really think that makes a huge difference.

| I have never personally used it, but I have read here on YT about using plain old cornstarch. Sprinkle it onto the matted area and work it in with your fingers. From what I have read it works wonderfully. Do a search here on YT with the word cornstarch, there are lots of posts about how it works.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have used Emu oil spray, Chris Christensen Ice on Ice and most recently Coat Handler detangler spray.

| I have an undercoat? comb and one that is metal and really wide teeth. I also have just a regular black hair comb that I tried. Do I need something else?

This is just my personal opinion, but I think the Madan Combs and Brushes are the best. Rosie has long hair. Does your baby have long hair or short? I can use just about any detangler and use the Madan comb to work out knots. We get lots of them because of the length of her hair. Again, just my opinion. I have combs from Petco but I don't think they compare. I don't usually have to spend too much time getting the mats out between the spray and the comb.

| Oh bless his little heart. Sorry, I didn't realize he was so young. Without his vaccines you probably wouldn't want him to go to a groomer anyway. Honestly, sometimes the knots just have to be cut out. Can someone maybe help you? One hold, one cut? Since the bandage was there they may be too knotted up to do anything. Just remember, it is hair that will grow back!

| Oh my gosh -- he is gorgeous! What a darling. I have not had a matting/knots problem, but swear by PEK.
