| Still confused about cottonny, soft, silky coat! Shadow just turned 1 and I always thought she had a cottony coat. It's very thick and shiny, curls on her back and grows very fast. Now I notice that the hair on her chest and neck is much thinner and softer. The black on her upper legs is turning to silver and the gold/tan is getting a bit lighter. Is she losing puppy coat? Can she have a combination coat? What's up? Trying to upload pictures, have to minimize them first. |

| I was trained to recognize silk, soft and wirey...and there are degrees..not all silk is the same thickness and texture...as as soft...soem soft coats are like wool, mat in 5 mins...others are less soft and managable with product...I see very few wire coats today, but those do not grow long, break before length is achieved. Your Yorkie looks soft to me...perhaps not a difficult wooly type, but not silk...check the eye flash in a dark room. |

| Here's this old thread, I'm going to try to see if it's true for Princess. It says puppies will show "blue" and doesn't indicate any type of coat, I'm not sure how old your baby is. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...eye-color.html
