| Naughty Yorkie Suzi's hair has grown out quite significantly. The problem is when I groom her, she rolls on her back all over the carpet, messing up any grooming i have done to her. I could not believe what I was seeing. It was like she did it on purpose . LIke a spoiled little child. So now she is back to looking scraggly. It is interesting. though. She has all silver underneath her top coat, and in the back she has the silver more. The top of her head look like it is nearly white. I guess I have to take her to a groomer and get it back into a puppy cut. This little monster is three years old, so I still do not know if her coat will keep changing to a lighter silver coat all over. If she had the puppy cut I think she would have the silver everywhere. I still don't get it, why she would go and mess her hair up just after I groomed her. She's something else.

| Tibbe is getting positively white toward his hair's ends! And he's one of those who wallows and rolls all over the place after he is bathed, groomed and brushed and pretty. It is like he cannot stand his hair to be down closefitting to his body so off he goes messing it all up again until it begins to curl out from all of the rubbing. When he does it on the rugs it stands out like Woodstock's after he's used the blowdryer!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Haha....well, if Suzi (she's adorable!) is naughty then my kids are naughty too! Every one here does the rub/roll thing, right after setting them down off the grooming table. I think it's because they don't smell like a dog after grooming and are trying to achieve that "special scent" again. If I want pictures, I have to have dh hold them til I'm ready to shoot pics.

| Then Heidi is naughty too... I can spend all that time getting her looking beautiful and she can mess it up in 2 seconds. I have found though that when I'm finished just as I begin to set her on the floor, if I ask her if she wants a treat she's gets all excited following me across the room to get the treat that she forgets to mess it up! Its not always a sure thing, but helps most of the time. Or sometimes after I groom her, I'll carry her around a bit and talk to her a few minutes she forgets to mess it up.

| Those are good ideas, thanks. I did not know that their were other yorkie's who did the same thing. It feels lke a slap in the face when she does it, but she is so darn cute , I can't help but think it is pretty funny.

| I have to laugh Buster is the same way. As soon I finish he MUST shake himself all out. He would rather be fluffy! He also will roll in the grass the first moment he can after his bath. He is quite the grass connoisseur he will roll only on the best. LOL

| I'm new to the board, I just had to add my 2 cents. My Harrah does the same thing. Only after a bath though. What I do is brush her out then let her do her rub and roll and then finish the grooming once she feels she is finished. Keeps her looking pretty for a little longer. |
