| Could a non-conditioned coat lead to a cottony apperance. My mother has a woman who lives in her community that just rescued a Yorkie, the dog was poorly cared for so needs a lot of work. The woman told my mom she though her dog had a really dry silky coat instead of a cotton one(I'm not sure how this come up but somehow it did). I was wondering if this was possible because Gatsby seems to have a very silky coat after a bath but the next day it has proofed up again I'm now wondering if i need a better conditioner. Any one have any thoughts?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I thought maybe it was just the puppy coat, but that's probably the adult hair. Does he mat? That's usually a sure sign of a cotton coat. If you're not having a huge problem with matting, it may be the conditioner. Joey's breeder recommends Biogroom and you can get a free sample of it by emailing the Biogroom Company and asking for a sample of their products. They send several shampoos and their cream rinse/conditioner. Their products are highly concentrated, and you need to add water before using. I've been really happy with it, but Joey's has a silky coat; it doesn't cost anything to try it. Bio-Groom - Exceptional Pet Care Products for Over 30 Years

| With my experience with Tatiana, she does not poof up the day after bath day. I don't use conditioner on Tatiana, as it seems to irritate her skin. Tatiana has a silk coat. Good luck with the spray. I hope it works out for Gatsby. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Morgan has a cotton coat and she poofs out the day after her bath. I gave her a schnauzer cut with the chest furnishings on saturday. By Sunday the chest furnishings were sticking out sideways instead of hanging straight down. I just looked at your albums to see Gatsby's coat. I don't think he has a cotton coat, or a silky one. I'm not sure what kind he has. it looks kinda coarse in the pictures. how does his hair feel? silky, soft, harsh, hard, thin, thick, warm, cold?

| Starr; when she is between groomings, has soft hair that mats despite being groomed three times a day.... is this what a cotton coat is? |
