| Hair beneath eyes When I Took Shadow for her first grooming, the groomer cut the hair just below the eyes real short. I would like to grow it out because it looks really weird as it start to grow. Of course the hair is aiming straight for her eyes! I read that you use hair gel to keep it out of the eyes until it grows in. Any suggestions? Thanks |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Some groomers do this because the dog might have an infection or really bad allergies, but there is no reason to automatically done. You're right once it done, its hard to grow out, some people recommend Pet silk topknot gel, and I used it to keep the short hairs out of the eyes. It's made for dogs so if the product gets in his eyes it won't cause a problem, unlike some human hair products. I had used a human hair spray on Joey and the hair got in his eye anyway, and he ended up with eye ulceration. I'm not saying the hair spray caused it, but it sure was a coincidence. I'd definately look for a new groomer or call the old one and tell her how unhappy you are.
