| thanks for the input. i'm so confused i've got a headache from trying to figure this out. i thought i'd read here somewhere that speed of the motor is key? petedge has a trimmer with a speed of 7200 spm, 2 blades (one for course and one for fine hair...they do not give a number), and combs in 6mm and 9mm. it's very inexpensive but the speed caught my eye. the wahl silverclip is on sale from 75.00 to something like 34 bucks. it is 6000 spm. blade adjusts from 2 to 3 mm. also comes with 5 comb attachments which range from 1/8" to 3/4". any advice? i'm not looking to be a groomer and will only use it on lulu. i'm on a tight budget but don't want to have to try a million different ones before finding something that works! thanks!

| I have a Wahl set of clippers, I bought a couple yrs ago from Petco .They were around $50.00 and I use them on both my 2 girls. I would like a clipper set that is cordless though, I think that is a nice feature.

| People who groom are at times preferential to a certain brand. You'll notice that the Wahl and Andis clippers have a slightly different design. I noticed this when I was at my breeders house a few months ago. Some poeple prefer one brand over another because their more comfortable to hold. I personally like the Andis brand and felt the $65 was a good one to start with. I have no intentions of replacing it any time soon. I don;t know that you need that much speed for a clipper. One thing to keep in mind is that its a good idea to buy some some clipperside spray. PetEdge: Clippercide Spray this cools your blades, disinfects and lubricates them. Good luck!
