| Best brush and comb for knots and for keeping them out Both Toby and Maisie are changing from puppy to adult coat and are matting a lot, especially when they are wearing coats in this bad weather. What is the best comb and brush to get the mats out and keep on top of it? At the minute i have a Madan pin brush, an #1 all systems pin brush, an unbranded face comb and metal comb and ice on ice spray

| I am watching this with interest as I am having a lot of trouble with matting coat at the moment. Hedley's puppy coat is a bit woolly. I am using cowboy magic as a conditioner which helps detangle. Hedley wont put up with a slicker or a matt splitter but with treats will tolerate a pin brush and this is what I use for matts. I also use a natural bristle brush which doesnt get the mats out but its nice for the face area and imparting a sheen. |

| comb out of all the combs for pets on the market i have found that just a fine toothed rat tail comb for people is the best and most used in my grooming salon. I get mine from a beauty supply store for $2.19 for 12 of them and love them.
