| BATHING your furbabies.......... Has anyone ever taken their furbaby into the shower with them to bathe them? Toby has been with us four weeks and has had two baths (only to add I was SOAKED with both baths!) He was a wee bit better with the second bath but still didn't care for it. I put a towel in the bottom of the laundry sink so he wouldn't slip and slide but I was thinking about putting him in the shower with me (it's a stand up shower with doors so he couldn't get out.) Once he was clean I'd towel dry him and have him sit in the bathroom while I finished my shower. Any pros or cons to doing this? I want to do what's best for him even if it means getting soaked every time I give him a bath.

| We put our furbabies in the shower with us all the time, it is just so much easier and I don't care how wet the bath area gets (its all tile)....plus my husband put in an extendable shower hose so I can sit with them as I wash and rinse them....

| My girls go in the shower with me most of the time. It's just easier for me. They are not thrilled with it but no less thrilled than getting a bath in the sink. |

| Thanks Martie. I didn't think it would hurt Toby. I told my husband I want to get a sprayer for my shower so I can try it and he doesn't have water beating down on him the entire time.

| I agree, it can't be any worse than getting a bath and in the shower I can cuddle him if he gets too scared and won't care if I get wet!

| I used to put my Chihuahua in the shower with me. I've also put the Basenji mix in there as well. I haven't put Wookie in there because I just bathe and groom him at work. Plus, I don't want water to get in his ears.

| I put Toby in the shower with me last night and it wasn't too bad. He didn't try to run to the corner of the shower plus I bought a "hand held" shower head so water wasn't constantly coming down on him. It's so hard to dry these little guys as I'm worried I'll hurt his fragile little legs. But he did let me semi-dry him with my blow dryer on cool. I want him to get used to being bathed so I can start taking him to my groomer. PLUS.....I wanted to try out my new shampoo and conditioner from Yorkies of Walnut Hill. They sold me! I've never seen Toby's coat so shiny, silky and soft. Plus the subtle fragrance is wonderful for a "boy!" I will definitely be a repeat customer. Everyone is probably tired of hearing me talk about the shampoo and conditioner but I am so impressed!

| I take Max with me into the shower all the time...only if it'll be a quick shower though. I think he gets cold while waiting for me to finish. I also have a hand held shower head and I adjust the setting so the water is not too forceful.

| I bathe my 8# Yorkie in the shower all the time. I have both a high and a low hook as it is a hand held. I use the low. I also have a seat that is about thigh high that I set him on. I put a towel in the seat so he won't slide and hold him up against me so that I can wash his stomach area and rinse it well. Fortunately, my husband is here to take him and dry him off while I continue my shower. Otherwise, I think I would pre-dry him, lay the towel on the bathroom floor for him to rub himself on while I finsih my shower. |

| I'm going to have to try the shower routine. Duke still isn't crazy about his baths. He tries to jump out every time. He did get used to the hair dryer though. I too let him wiggle around on the floor a bit to dry himself then we finish with the hairdryer. |

| It sure made it a lot easier on me by taking him in the shower with me. And he didn't mind it at all!

| Right after I got Duke he followed me in the shower one morning. He didn't want to be by himself..lol I should have taken advantage then and got him into the routine. |
