| Top Knot Question I want to start putting Sophie's hair into a topknot soon but I had a question. Do you all who put topknots in always use a band of some sort before you put the bows in or is just using the clip kind of bows ok? I'm thinking that the clips will be easier at first, but do they stay in really well? Thanks! |

| Any kind of strong clip, be it french barrette or alligator clips will not stay put unless the hair is already gathered in a top knot. French barrette might last longer by itself, but it won't last.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I always use a band, and most of the time I just cover the band with a mini claw clip. For special occasions, he wears a bow, and those usually have bands sew on to the back, but I just use that band to hold bow in place, not tight like I do the regular band, he also has some barrettes with sports themes, and I use those clipped around some of the hair in the topknot, otherwise he can just shake it off.

| Thanks! I wasn't sure. So I guess I'll be working with her on putting the band in there! |

| The clips and bands... do not stay in place for long but keep putting them in. If they fall out put them back in. Within a month or two you have a enough hair length, the yorkie is used to all the fuss and they will stop trying to get them out and the bands, clips will stay in. |

| Don't get discourged! I had to have someone hold Maddie while I put in a pony and she still would throw a fit. Now, I don't know what happened, she just sits still for me I guess she realized that even though she squirmed, that pony was going in! Good luck! |

| I usually just use one of those little knit bands you find in the baby section for everyday. They don't pull the hair and are easy to take out. They are comfortable, but they can leave them in all the time so are used to having a topknot. Daisy wiggles and squirms when I clean her ears or eyes and does not like being brushed, but when it comes to the topknot, she just flops her little head right down on my knee or a little pillow and waits patiently for her new do. Go figure that one out! I thnk it is time for me to get more advanced on her hairstyles. I have ordered some pretty bows for her birthday the end of this month and will try using some regular bands with them. Good luck, and let us know how you make out!

YT 1000 Club Member | With Friday I started with the baby scrunchies and only use grooming bands when she shows or we go to a meetup. If you teach them to lay down eventually they will do it when you are putting their topknot up.

| She's finally letting me do it!! I took her to the groomers on Saturday and they had one in and I asked them and they said she just let us do it. Sure enough, when we got home she let me put on in!! I couldn't believe it! |
