| Considering Minksheen but have a few questions I spent $30 yesterday at Petsmart on the new shampoo made by Bed Head called Pet Head. Well, it was $15 for the shampoo and $15 for the conditioner. I gave him a bath last night and he is sooo soft and smells sooo good BUT he looks like a fluff ball. LOL. I'm thinking he either hasn't gotten his adult coat yet or he just has a cottony coat. I think he needs a shampoo with a lot of oils and I've read on here that Minksheen seems to work really well on cottony coats and leaves them more silky. My questions are: Do I need to use a conditioner with Minksheen or does the shampoo do everything? If so, Is there a certain conditioner that is recommended? Hmmm... I think I had more questions but can't remember now... oh well, thanks!

| I do use a conditioner to, but not sure you have to. I use Biogroom Silk Conditioning Creme Rinse and I really like that.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Morgan is a cotton coat and minksheen did nothing to make it silkier or smoother. I just liked the way it smelled and kept bugs away. she's soft all the time anyway so i don't know if the shampoo did anything to help that.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I use it on my 3 and it makes the 2 cottony coated ones look much silkier. I do use a conditioner on them to help with combing them out. On Pixie who is silky I just use it by itself. I also use Petsilk which works really well too.

| Hmm.. I will probably start out with the sample size because I know I read on here somewhere that the Minksheen made their silky coat Yorkie kinda greasy looking but worked great for their cotton coat Yorkie. Guess I'll just have to try it and see how it works for Tobie

| That was my other question that I forgot! lol. I saw someone posted a topic about Petsilk so I went to their website and all I saw was conditioner. Do they not make shampoo? Would it be okay to use the minksheen shampoo and petsilk conditioner together? Also, they didn't have prices on their website... about how much does it cost?

| I use pantene conditioner with it. On chachi I just use the minksheen because the pantene makes his hair greasy looking

| Do you use Pantene for people? I've always read not to use people shampoo (conditioner) on dogs.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Pet silk has shampoos and conditioners in different scents. I use the mink sheen on my 2 and then the Pet Silk conditioner and it turns out nice. I bathed and groomed an elderly lady's yorkie that lives in my dad's senior apartment yesterday as she has no way of getting out and he has a very true steel blue silk coat so I was afraid to use the mink sheen so I used the Pet Silk and he turned out beautifully. I took pictures but some how last night while fooling with my camera I accidently deleted all 300 pictures on my SD card and some were of him.

| Minksheen I use Minksheen on my cottony coated Yorkie. I also used it on my silky Yorkie and love the way it makes them so soft. I never used a conditioner with it, as I believe there is conditioner in it. It is concentrated, so be sure to dilute it and rinse well.

| I have used a pea size of Pantene Beautiful Lengths conditioner after using the minksheen just on the top portion of the back and let it run down he hair and rinse all off. Minksheen comes with a conditioner already in it but I use it to manage the flyaways and a touch more of softness. |

| Morkie's coat more Yorkie than Maltese My 11 mo old Morkie has really soft hair I don't know if I'd call it silky or what. It parts down the middle of her back naturally and is pretty straight. My problem with Belle is she mats really easy and they are like little cotton balls stuck to her. This is my first experience with a coat like hers and I am not sure what to do? I comb her everyday but the way she rolls and twists around on the floor is bound to cause mats. If I put her sweater on or her vest for walking, she gets mats. I have tried all kinds of products and nothing really helps. I even tried corn starch but that did nothing. I get to the point where I cut the mats out because combing them would hurt her. I can't keep cutting mats or she will be bald! Anyone help me please? |

| I'm not sure what to tell you because it is a "Morkie" and I don't know how the other breeds coat is. I brush my Yorkies every couple of days and my Lexy who has the longest hair does have a natural part as well. When I brush them I brush them the opposite direction as if I'm poofing her hair up to ensure I get all tangles out. I mainly use a slicker brush on them and they love it, it's like a massage to them. My Carly is like yours though she turns on her back anytime I want to love on her so she does the same when brushing her but her hair is short and I have been trying to work with her on staying on her stomach as I have only had her a few months. What shampoo's have you tried? Have you tried any conditioner's? I love Minksheen and I received more in the mail today as I had run out. You don't really notice a difference until you stop using it. My poor baby's have been scratching themselves like crazy especially since we have tons of mosquitos now, bathes for everyone tomorrow...my Minksheen has arrived and fast too thanks to Jenny! She also sent me Nova Pearl's Conditioner to try as well tomorrow, I will let you know how that works.
