| Right age for first grooming? My Diva is 12 weeks old today. She has a rather thick, somewhat unruly puppy coat, but it looks good right after a bath. My hubby thinks she needs a cut. He thinks she looks disheveled and messy. I do intend to keep her with a short, puppy coat, but I worry that she's too young. She goes tomorrow for her second set of shots and the vet has a groomer there so I could inquire about that service, but: Is she too young for a cut? TIA! |

| One to two weeks after her last set of shots would be fine.

| I wouldn't take her until she finishes all her shots. The groomer I use to go to made everyone bring in a shot record before she would except them as a client.

| Oh gosh, thanks everyone! I wanted to wait until she had all of her shots before doing anything, but my hubby keeps complaining. Since he's still in MI and we're in TX, I'll continue to ignore him (as I do best) and wait it out. LOL. No more emailing pics to him. |

| Reese is 12wks. 4 days and I gave her a little "self clean up" today. (hahaha) I know what you mean. I think the 3 month mark is about the time you start questioning having the hair trimmed up, at the least, to keep it looking "fresh".

| She's adorable. Though still a bit too young to go the the groomer. Most groomers require you to have all their shots first, including and most importantly the rabies shot. At that age, their coat can tend to get matted a lot... So as the others said, its best to keep her bathed and brush her often
