The best thing to do is to get a warm cloth or cotton ball every morning and clean around her eyes with that. My yorkie has stuff in her eyes every night, and I just take and pick it out, if it stays in there, it will rot the hair. My sister swears by using distilled water to give her dogs to drink(she has a maltese that used to have terrible tear staining.

I bought angel eyes for my maltese a few years ago, but, it didn't work, so, with her, I put a little peroxide on a cotton ball and wiped around the eyes. Not sure, but, I'm thinking, that it is more for white dogs

For the maltese, just try the peroxide on the cotton ball, just make sure you don't get it in their eyes. That's what I found worked much better than the angel eyes
