| Stomach hair question?? Hello. I plan on learning to groom walker myself since it costs 100 Euro which is about 140$ at the moment here. But I have a horribly awkward question. I already trim his stomach hair so he doesn't pee in it, but... Can i trim the hair on his penis? Haha. Its just that its gotten long enough that Its hard to get clean with a baby wipe without pulling and hurting him and I can't give him a bath every time he pees. Just curious. thanks |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey's breeder recommended leaving the hair on the penis 1-2 inches long, this is called a "pee string" and it directs the flow of urine so it doesn't splatter everywhere. It need not be thick, and I trim it like the point of an artist brush, so that it's effective at guiding urine but still dries quickly.

I always keep Hobbs' fur down there about an inch long simply because if he decides to show his lipstick I don't want to see it. But if it gets longer than an inch I trim it. | |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Not a lot of pictures of this, here's one site, that talks about the pee string. Look for the area that says "Trimming Urination Area of a Dog" Welcome to Holly Huxford's Animal Page!
