Senior Yorkie Talker | Age to get first groom?? I've read that the first groom shouldn't be until after 6 months....or at least until after all shots. But I've also read that the puppy coat falls out on it's own.....If the coat falls out on it's own when does it normally do that? Does it fall out bit by bit or relatively quickly? Right now Gwen is to the point where I want to trim her down b/c she is so scraggly that the only time she doesn't look a mess is when she is just bathed and blow dried. Is this just b/c she is starting to lose her puppy coat? She's 16 weeks old right now. I can't groom her until March at least when it starts to warm up, b/c I know this winter will probably be really really cold and I don't want to make her sick b/c her hair gets cut off. I like the look of the longer coat more than the puppy cut. If I just let it grow will it grow into that or should I get her trimmed in the spring to start growing her adult coat in evenly? Any information would be great. Thanks!

| Some people dont get that puppy hair cut out they just let the adult coat grow in. Thats what I wished I would have done with my Jewels but I did end up getting her cut when she was a pup
