| Conditioner Suggestions? Despite the intense humidity here in the South, Pippin is having trouble with dry, flaky skin. We use a dog shampoo from target and pantene conditioner, as well as a leave in conditioner for dogs. I was cautious with the human conditioner at first, and it seemed to work for a few months, but lately it's just not cutting it. Can anyone recommend a good conditioner for his dry skin?

| I think you need a good shampoo & conditioner. If Pippen has dry skin it's not just the conditioner. You need something good with oatmeal or high grade ingredients. This shampoo and conditioner is great for skin issues and will help improve the coat Nu Sal-T shampoo NuSal-T Shampoo (8 oz) and Relief Creme Rinse Relief Creme Rinse - 8 oz Also, read this http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ampoo-etc.html I posted this some time back - but great info

| It could be a couple of things... 1st - what are you feeding him? Make sure it's something without corn or other grains that can cause allergies. Dry skin is sometimes a food related thing. You can also supplement with omega fish oils. 2nd: The Target shampoo is probably pretty harsh and not helping things. We use Buddy Wash & Rinse (i have that on my site) and others on here use brands like Mink Sheen, Petsilk... there are so many just do a search for "shampoo". I like Buddy Wash because it doesn't actually have soap in it so it doesn't dry their skin out as much. Don't worry it gets them clean - it cleans up puke and diarrhea for sure and it smells great for days!

| Thanks so much for the advice guys. I hadn't even thought about his food causing a skin problem! I'm going to stop by a couple of our local specialty pet supply stores tomorrow to see what they have.

| I went to the store today and received 7 different grain-free food samples for Pippin to try for free! So hopefully even this picky little eater will find one he likes. I bought some oatmeal shampoo and conditioner to try on him. Oh, and I bought a bottle of Petzlife spray from your website Erin, something I've needed to purchase for a while. Thanks!
