Senior Yorkie Talker | Grooming question about top knot like hair I love hank in a puppy cut. And ive been looking at some pics on here and their hair on the top of their head still stands up. Hanks has gotten so long im thinking about trimming it to make it stick up. Should i or shouldn't i. If so how? |

| Not sure why you want to trim it? Do you like that look better. My 2 have long ponytails - it doesn't stand up, but it also doesn't get in their face which is very nice

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I kept Joey's hair in a puppy cut for a long time, but I really began to love the look of the topknot, which we call a "ninja knot", so I started to grow it out. It's actually easier because frequent trimmings aren't necessary, and we use a topknot gel while waiting for those little hairs on the bridge of nose to grow.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Oh, I misinterpeted what you were saying, you just want to cut the topknot shorter so it stands. Yes, it just depends on the look you like.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I would put in in the topknot and hold it straight up and clip some off with one cut. Always cut less than you want, with the first cut to make sure you don't cut too much. Just repeat this until you get the look you want.
