| Short Yorkie Haircut Suggestions/Pics? Hi... I'm considering getting a Yorkie and got the suggestion in another thread of a short cut (or puppy cut?) to minimize grooming. Does anyone have pics showing a Yorkie with a short cut? I haven't ever seen one and I'd love to see how it looks. Are there specific instructions or terms I should use to tell a groomer what I want? Thanks! |

| She looks really cute! I was kind of picturing the hair almost shaved, which seemed like it would take away the cute Yorkie look, but her haircut is great! |

| Lola and Rebel(my mom's Yorkie) got their first short haircuts last Friday. We just found a pic of the haircut that we wanted and gave it to the groomer. Just do a search on here for short haircuts and you should be able to find some cute pics. Here are some pics of our babies modeling their new haircuts. 1. Lola 2. Rebel

When I got Hot Rod his "puppy cut", I downloaded the picture from GW Little. I didn't think I would like it but it came out soooo adorable! I just got him trimmed up but I didn't get a whole lot off his head, just evened up. I am growing his coat for winter now.

| We love puppy cuts! Here's some pics of Sammy and Loki in their short cuts. We left Sammy's topknot since that part of her hair is pretty silky. The rest of her mats easily and is very thick so we had to cut it. Loki has always been kept short, in fact I try to get him to the groomer every 4-5 weeks and I trim him face and paws in between. He just looks so cute super short! It's his signature "Loki cut" at our groomer

| Short haircuts Hi this is my first post...I have a 18 month old female yorkie named Chloe..I have had her since Oct...I had not been able to find a short cut I liked for her until now...I had her cut this past Sat...They cut her in a schnauzer style cut...I love it!!! Only thing I am not too crazy about is she cut all the hair off her ears...LOL...her ears look huge!...next time I will get her to leave more hair...she also cut her eyebrows forward like a schnauzers..I trimmed them shorter and it looks much better...I love this cut!!! I have attached a few pictures, I hope they turn out.. Have a wonderful day AlisaC |

| All those cuts look soooo cute! Can those of you who keep your dog's hair short give me an idea of how often the dog needs to be groomed to keep things neat? Thanks! |

| It depends on how short you want them to be and how much you are willing to do yourself. Mine could go 8 weeks but I take them every 4-5. (We like our groomer!) I trim pads and nails and faces in between. If Loki gets too long in the summer he gets hot. You still have to brush under their legs to keep the mats down, especially when they wear harnesses. I have their bellies shaved down to try to prevent this, but you still have to brush a little bit. Then I wash faces/clean eyes/fix Sammy's topknot every day. Oh, they also get baths every week because they still get stinky and crusty, but it takes 5 minutes to blow dry them! In the summer you can just let them run around and air dry which is even better!
