Question Does anyone have this dryer?

PetEdge: Andis QuietAire Ionic/Ceramic Pet Dryer

Pros/Cons? Does it actually detach from the stand? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it buy this versus using our regular hair dryer!

Also does anyone buy their shampoo from Petedge? They have like a million different types listed and it's hard to figure out!
Thanks!

I know, the price seems right and I love the idea that it has a stand. I haven't been able to determine if you can remove it from it though!

I have this dryer and its just like a human hair dryer and it does remove from the stand.
I like it and I think the price is right. I have used it on my own hair in a pinch when I cant find my hair dryer. I almost never use mine so loose it alot lol

Yeah, I just read through everything including the instructions that come with it and it doesn't say. Maybe someone here or at PetEdge knows if it can be used by hand also.

Oh that's great to hear! I couldn't find that info anywhere!
We have alot of grooming supplies to order, so I can't save shipping anyway! We are going to get the whole arsenal of what we need to groom our babies, I can hardly swallow saying that! I hope we don't butcher them too badly!
Thank You!

I have this dryer, the only bad thing I found was the stand broke soon after i bought the dryer so now I have to use the blowdryer by hand or drape it over a flexable arm that has a clamp on it. I bought mine on line but I see walmart carries them now so they are cheaper there.

I have that dryer too and reallyl like it. I have not used the stand yet, I just usually hold it in my hand. I like that it is quiter and doesn't have the loud motor sound like my human hair dryers, and it doesn't scare my babies. When I got mine Petsmart had it for $10 more than PetEdge and I asked them to match the price and they did. Wal mart would probably have a better price.

I guess I am in the minority because I don't care for mine. The hot and medium settings are too hot. Petedge sells a stand like the one that comes with this dryer. It can be used with any handheld dryer.

If you are caring for a show coat or have a lot of dogs to groom, you should consider a forced air dryer. It blows the water off of the coat instead of using heat. It is much quicker and the coat is not damaged. It is very different from a traditional dryer and takes time to get used to it. When I am grooming for a show, I use a traditional dryer when the coat is almost dry to help straighten

There are some draw backs. They can loud and the air comes out with a lot of force. The air can be regulated on the one that I have and it is not too loud. It is made by Magnum Force. Here is the link for one sold by Petedge.

Actually I don't think you are that much of the minority. I've been reading reviews on various sites and I'm finding alot of complaints in regards to the stand. I've been reading that it's flimsy and something wears down quickly and the dryer doesn't stand up! It figures since the dryer is such a great price!
I will have to check out the stand you mentioned with Petedge, the idea of having the dryer in a stand is really what we were after.
We don't show, we just have two Yorkies that we are going to start grooming at home! They aren't in show coats.
Thanks for the input and the stand info!

I agree. I bought this and another one and didn't like either one. First, it was not any quieter than my own, cost more than mine, and the stand isn't tall enough for me to do it hands free. I'd rather invest in an arm and a forced air one like you were saying.

I think we are going to hold off and use our personal dryer. Especially since we are going into spring/summer. Maybe we will look at another type in the fall.

I think the stand is around $10. I have had mine for years and it is as good as new. I have hauled it all over place showing so it must be well made.

Walmart used to sell an arm and clamp for human dryers that is wonderful. It will hold any postion. I know a few people that have them and they are perfect for dogs. So far, I haven't found one but I am still looking.
