| Coat HELP!!!! "By the time they are 8 weeks old the very flufffy puppy will probably grow up to have the incorrect soft coat and if it hasn't broken color at all on it's body and it's head is breaking to a bronzy tone instead of a clear silvery hue than it will probably remain very dark and the head will fail to clear." I just read that right now on another thread.....now I am concerned.... Maxx is 11 weeks, and is very fluffy. He is still black/tan is that a bad thing?? |

| Probably does have a cottony coat...but I thought it took longer than the 8 week mark to really tell...I could be wrong. It seems to me there are more cottony coat yorkies out there than silkies...or its what I see more of...again, I could be wrong.

| While a cotton coat/soft coat is not correct according to the standard, it's not a bad thing for a pet. Rylie has a soft coat...it tangles and matts easier so you've really got to keep up with the brushing

| Abby looks like she has reddish gold highlights intermingled with the black on top of her head, but her back is still very fluffy and black. Her parents both had a silky coat, so I'm hoping she does too. From what I could tell from pictures, she started changing colors on top of her head between 7-8 weeks. changing colors that's what breaking coat means.
