| Conditioner Question: To Condition or Not to Condition Do you all use a conditioner? I am currently just using a Hartz Puppy shampoo I picked up at Target when I first got my pup. I am not really pleased with the results. Her trip to the groomers (PetsMart, but I had a great experience with the puppy package) greatly magnified my disappointment. She came back sooooo soft and soooo hypnotically fragrant (not obnoxious but nice and it lasted for quite sometime). What do you recommend as a conditioner. do you even need to use one? Should i just buy a better shampoo instead? I was on petsmart.com (most of you probably dont frequent them, i dunno) and saw a product called "Groomax Spa Dog Conditioners." It got really good reviews, almost all was a 5 out of 5. Has anyone tried it? I just want my baby to have nice soft nice hair like when she did when she came back from being groomed. Any advice would be wonderful. Also, one last Q, how frequent do you bathe your pup? Thanks for reference my pup is 16weeks. |

| I'm probably not one to answer your questions..as I am to still trying to find the right shampoo...I have read that some use MinkSheen and I can't remember what else. I just bought John Paul Pet Oatmeal Shampoo & Conditioner at petco. I haven't got to use it yet. It smells pretty good though. I give Little Man a bath sometimes once a week, sometimes I let him go for 2 weeks. Just depends on how dirty he gets that week. Yes, I do use a Conditioner. It helps keep their coats soft, but that is JMO. Maybe one of the other members will come along help ya out.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that we also use the Coat Handler conditioner. It is what our breeder recommended. Anna | |

| I would ask the groomer what she used on your puppy. If it's a product they sell in the store they shouldn't have any trouble telling you. Just tell her it's for in between grooming appointments

| I would definitely ask the groomer. Often they will give you a sample so you can try it a couple of times before buying a big bottle of it. My girl is in a puppy cut and she gets really greasy quickly so I do not condition. |

| I used to use conditioner, but since Roxy has been having these 'skin problems' I haven't used it in quite some time now. Currently I use Minksheen shampoo and I rinse VERY well to make sure there is no residue left over. And nothing else. |

| Conditioner I use Johnsons baby conditioning baby shampoo on her head (so her eyes won't be hurt) "virbac" Allergroom on her body and nexxus humectress (diluted 1:1 with water) conditioner all over. I bathe her weekly. She is almost at a full coat and looks fantastic!

| Young puppies generally don't even need a conditioner, but I think it makes their little coat so much nicer. When they have their adult coat, they most likely need some type of conditioner since they do tend to mat easily. |

| I will never buy anything by Hartz. Way too many horror stories of their products killing animals. I honestly can't believe they are still allowed to have products on the shelves I use Fresh & Clean Oatmeal and Baking Soda shampoo and conditioner. I love the way it smells.
