| Cottony/Silky Coats...Here's How to View The Difference Our Teddy has a Cottony Coat, our Tiffanie has a Silky Coat...They both just happend to be right beside each other after Teddy had his bath today, I just snapped the photo and got to looking at it and thought well now U can really see the difference between a Cottony and Silky Coat, so often I wondered as they we're growing up (Well their still growing!) what their coat type was and now I know! They both are 3 years old now. So maybe this will help others to help them know what coat their Yorkshire Terrier has. Hugs, Lee |

| Great picture since that question is so frequently asked. And as they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words. How true. |

| Thanks. It really helps to see such a difference. I now know that Kayla has a cotton coat. I don't think she is as curly as your baby when she is bathed but her hair is real wavy. Thanks again, it makes a great difference to see them side by side like that. |

| Which coat is which? I'm so confused! Smokey's hair is one of those that you can let him dry off on his own and he still looks like a million dollars. He doesn't even really need brushed because his hair is thin, straight, etc. The feeling of his hair though is a bit more "coarse" than Chip's. Chip's you need to brush and work with so it will lay flat and even then it's all over the place and wavy, but that's also his puppy hair. His face has his adult hair and it's extremely silky feeling lays flat and is very thin. So which one is which? Chip looks like the yorkie on the right (but not as curly) and Smokey looks like the yorkie on the left after a bath.

| I always thought Piper had a cottony coat, but I was wrong, because he doesn't look anything like your cottony. Guess he's a silky. LOL Your two are adorable, and look like best buds.

| My Keegan had a cotton coat (he's in the first pic), they tend to be silvery and wavy. Teddi is wooly (second pic), They tend to be dark and very thick.
