| Levittown Petsmart Basic Training Class I've been looking for Basic Obedience training and the ones that are offered in Brooklyn cost around 300 for 6 weeks... They have a Saturday 9 AM class in Levittown, starting April 07 and running for 8 weeks, that's what I'm doing with Pepper! Well, I figured, you can't go wrong with it since it costs a little more than 100... Anyone have any experience with that Petsmart? I read the other thread about Petsmart classes and I realize it al depends on the instructor. But also there's the fun part and the socialization... I'm excited, I think it will be fun!!

| I will be interested to see any replies, as I am considering the local PetSmart classes as well. Or a book or video. I have no dog training experience, so I was thinking the classes might be the better way to go for me, but not sure of Pet Smart. The alternatives (private lessons) are way to expensive for me. | There is a few threads............you can search them. Basically, the response will vary. It depends on the trainer more than anything.

| My Friend had a great experience with the services she received at the PetSmart training school for her Yorkie...I am waiting for the store to open up at the Cross County Center (April07) to get Koda registered. |

| Marcellacml: they teach basic obedience commands (like stay, sit, down, come) and leash walking... Pepper seems to have problems with all the above, and I know he'll love to be surrounded by other dogs as well. When I took him to sign him up, I wanted to show off to the trainer and said Sit (well, he usually sits at home ). He started jumping around. Then hubby came by and just snapped his fingers at Pepper... Guess what the little stinker did? SAT nicely. Grrrr. I hope my leader position will be established at least

| Yep, we had the first class/orientation last Sat, we even got homework !! lol. It was a lot of socializing and talking, we were working on calming the dogs down (sitting on the floor with them and petting/massaging) - trying to distract them from other dogs around. That's the area we need to work on lol. But it wasn't bad at all, there were barking and whining dogs, Pepper was fairly quiet, just all over the place. lol. There were 3 big dogs, 2 shi'tzus, a poodle and a boston terrier.
