Sept. 2017 Looking for CT pup! On September 8, 2017, my husband and I had to put down Sasha, our beloved Yorkie. She was our very first and only pet, and with us for 18 years and 7 months. As of late between her kidneys failing and chronic pancreatitis, she had lost all appetite and was down to under 7 lbs. from 13.5 lbs. in her youth. We never denied and always tried to provide her with the best care including veterinary services but towards the end there wasn’t much more we could do given her age. We'd regularly go for hour long walks around the neighborhood and open spaces. We taught her to ring a front desk bell (like the kind you see at a hotel) on the floor, to let us know she needed to go out. Once she figured out we'd come running when she'd ring, she'd do it just for getting attention - who trained who here! We were with her when she went through surgery and radiation treatment to beat cancer, and also a successful surgery to repair a cruciate ligament tear. She was little but surprisingly strong. We married late and didn't have any children but Sasha filled that void perfectly. Most of all, Sasha was our best friend and we really, really miss our little girl.
So we are now on a quest to find our next furry child. Do you have any trusted ideas for finding our next pup and/or breeder? If so, I would love to hear from you! We live in Fairfield, Connecticut. Thank you! |
