| does anyone know this breeder in NJ? Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and I wanted to share my concern with you. Does anyone happen to know Christie's Yorkies? Home - Christie's Yorkie's I think she's either from Lakewood or Toms River, NJ? I have met her and one of her dogs back in March and gave her a non-refundable deposit (she said "a new puppy" will be the only way to "replace" our deposit) and signed a contract... then comes April...I had to reach out to her and she told me that the dog was never pregnant and wanted us to wait for the next litter...and never contacted us again. Granted, I just hope she's not fraud, but if she is...I just hope other ppl don't go through what I'm/was going through... What steps can I take (in the case that she is fraud)? |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I am afraid you been taken, a good breeder would NEVER take a deposit on puppies that have not been born, or viable.. I breed and I have a waiting list , when a person is interested in a puppy and i don't have any, i put their name and info on the list , NO MONEY until the babies are born and are 8 weeks old, at that time I take a deposit and you get to MEEt your pup, then the balance of payment is due when the puppy goes home at 12 weeks. Maybe if you send her a certified letter and tell her you are going to the police might get your money back. hugs |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I agree. I would difinitely contact the police. It is fraud. Bring all paperwork, contract etc., with you when you go to the police. I checked out her site. I can not believe the amount of misspelling

| Update Thank you both...well I finally got in touch with her on New Year's Day when she sent me a nasty message on facebook saying how she doesn't appreciate my post on her facebook... and it seems like from her facebook page that she "finally" has puppies and she told me to just pay the "rest" of the money if I wanna pick up a puppy from her... so I told her how irresponsible she is as a breeder (she lost our contract, and seriously can not lie for her life, as she said she couldn't find me when all this time she had me on her facebook page). ::sigh::..i understand times are hard but what's up with all these breeders scamming ppl left and right? |

| Jeezus criminy. Textbook example of a lazy greeder. OP, I'm so sorry you got caught up with this idiot. IMO, the best thing you could do is try to get your deposit back, and if not, chalk it off to lesson learned, and run just as fast as you can away from this (censored). I looked at her puppy contract, and it made me want to throw up. She's looking for a quick buck and doing nothing but covering her own butt.

| Contact the local police department (in her area) and see what they suggest. Maybe they can escort you to her location to get the money back...? Tell them you have a signed contract. Sigh. Sorry that you have to deal with this
