| Need good Vet for neutering my Gizmo in Queens NY area Hi All, My baby boy just turned 7 months old and I am considering getting him neutered sometime soon. He completed his shots w/ Queens Animal Hospital in 58th St Woodside. They were ok but I just don't trust them. I have purchased Friends if Animals Certificate for $65 which is neutering cost discount my groomers told me about. I can only go to the listed Vet below. Please need good recommendation if anyone has good or bad experience. Certificate is good for 1 year and I would like to take him in spring. Please help. My first choice Dr. Mohmoud Elbasty @ AAA clinic bc it is very close to my house. Thank you in advance. | Milo was neutered at All Pets in Astoria using the same certificate. All went well but we changed vets soon after. We are now using Astoria Veterinary Group (Dr. Smith) and are very happy there. Unfortunately, they are not on your list. You might want to read reviews of each vet on Yelp to help you make your decision. Good luck to you and Gizmo. |

| Thank you for your reply. I might go to the one on 69th St since its very close to my house. He completed his shots at Queens Animal Clinic on 58th but I don't trust them with my Gizmo. How old was Milo neutered? Gizmo turned 7 months last week and I am really scared what to expect. How long was the recovery? I'ld like to know how long I should take off from work. Thank you very much again. |

| Milo was almost 7 months when he was neutered. He was a bit groggy for the afternoon/evening after surgery but by the next day was pretty much back to normal. He hated the cone so we kept him in a baby onesie at night to protect his stitches and just watched him during the day to make sure he did not lick or fuss with the incision area. Milo had the surgery on a Friday and we were home with him all weekend. He was pretty much okay by Monday but my husband's schedule allowed him to be home during the day with Milo. I am sure that your little guy will be fine. How much does he weigh? Milo was about 5 pounds at time of surgery, I think. |

| Gizmo is now 3 1/2 lbs and bc he is still tiny, I'm thinking of waiting until he's a year old. When I left him to the groomers the first time...I was already nervous. Imagine surgery I think I will wait until April when my Mom-in law is home from vacation so she can be with him during day time. Thank you so much again. Now I know Gizmo will be fine. |
