| Hi thanks for asking! Actually I was a nervous wreck, but the doc didnt want to do anything to Maxi because we havent had her a week yet. He did give him a clean bill of health though, thank God. But he said no booster shots for another week. He gave him an immune booster shot (like vitamins he said). And he gave me Prozyme to feed my baby. Does anyone else do this? Also, the doc said that Leptco is included in the rabbies shots and that he has to give it to Maxi but I heard that his is really bad for baby yorkies. Does anyone else do this too? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would ask why it has to be given and most vets give it in connection with their DHLP. I just get the DHP no L-lepto but maybe your vet has a reason, but I would ask and have the rabies given seperate from other shots. I have mine get their shots spaced apart by at least a month,

| how old is the puppy; a rabies shot is too soon now; the puppy has to be above 6 months; i would wait for the rabies shot; no rush; especially if the puppy is not interacting with other dogs.

| When we got Milo he had already been given some of his shots including the Lepto as a part of a combination shot. When we took him to our vet, she said that Lepto was not necessary for a dog living in NYC and questioned why it had been given to him by breeder. She also staggered the shots and rabies was given alone. This way you can watch for reactions to a particular shot. Are you using a vet in Astoria? We go to Dr. Hatzi at All Pets on Ditmars but are considering switching to Astoria Veterinary Group at 23-54 Steinway St. We have heard wonderful things about Dr. Jodie Smith there. |
