| Breeders Prices Hi I am new and want to purchase aYorkie from a breeder and not a puppy mill. I am researching and have called a few pet shops that have quoted--starting prices from 400--to 1,500 dollars. I have heard bad accounts on these shops also. I live in Brooklyn and need help---thanx |

| Pet shops get their puppies from puppy mills, so please don't get a puppy from a pet shop. Read this article to find out more about the wholesale pet industry and pet shop puppies: http://www.kerryblues.info/index.htm...UE/WHYNOT.HTML The best place to start your search is to look at the YTCA's list of breeders in your state. These breeders will be able to refer you to other reputable breeders if they don't have puppies or are not in your price range. http://www.ytca.org/breeder1.html |

YT Addict | Yes definitely don't go to a pet shop. It may be tempting because it's the fastest/easiest way to get a puppy but in the long run it may not be the best decision. I would go to the sites suggested above and really do the research and take your time. it may seem like it's taking forever, but it's better than getting a sick puppy/supporting puppy mills. Good luck!!
