YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Ooh, I wouldn't breed her at all. The general "rule" is not to breed a female who is under 5 pounds and less than 18 months old.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Your girl full grown will probably not even be 4lbs and I wouldn't recommend breeding any female yorkie at that weight. If you don't mind my asking why do you even want to breed her?

| Very dangerous road you are venturing down. Please reconsider this. Small females easily DIE during or soon after giving birth!

| First of all she sounds like she is going to be way to small to breed. Usually if they are under 5lbs their structure is not able to carry and deliver puppies safely. Meaning good chance she could die. Now even if she grew up and was big enough you have soo many other things to consider. What is her pedigree? Is she a "good example of the breed"? What are her faults? Have you considered the cost of all the testing prior to breeding, during pregnancy, cost of emergency c-section, care of mom and pups after birth, possible loss of mom and pups? What are your reasons for wanting to breed, honestly? Oh and you shouldn't breed until at least 18 months old. I'm sure one of YT's experienced breeders can give you more advice but it is a lot to consider and research. |
