I have a guy in my office who is in his early 20's and he stays with his girlfriend at our house and house sits and watches the dogs. I don't pay him because he is delighted to have a vacation from his roommates and access to our freezer . He is in college and works two jobs. I always bring him a Thank you gift back. And make sure the fridge and cupboards are stocked with good food that he can't afford right now. I also have a friend whose daughter does that for a living while going to school. Or hire a bonded petsitter to come watch the dogs. Good Luck.

| Are you guys going to be staying in a hotel or are you camping? Here is a link to DogFriendly - for the Mount Rushmore / Rapid City area. http://www.dogfriendly.com/server/tr...ck_Hills.shtml Also, this one looks really nice and it's only $20 per night! http://www.safehavenpetresort.com/Overnight_suites.html

| Lori, I was to Mt. Rushmore last summer and left Maddie with my sister. I was so glad I did because I noticed places that said "no dogs," and one of those places was Mt. Rushmore. I remember, at the time, being glad I'd left Maddie home. That is really crazy that they won't allow dogs in a campground! What a stupid rule!
