| car seat for dog? We have had a yorkie for a little over a month. He likes to go but wants to ride behind our neck. Is this leagal in all states, or in any states? We have a carrier but in my small pickup there is not enough room for two people and a carrier. I think if we were driving a school bus he would still want to ride behind our neck. Does anyone else have this problem? Larry & Hercules |

| I don't know if it's legal or not, but it is very dangerous for the dog. If a car was to hit you, where do you think your Yorkie would end up? I keep mine in their car seat strapped in just like a child.

| it is illegal to ride with a dog on the driver. it is also very dangerous. i recommend the lookout carseat. it saved romeo's life in a very bad accident. we crashed so fast i would have never had time to secure him. after the accident i was unconsious. when i woke he was sitting in his carseat in perfect condition.

| I highly recommend a Snoozer carseat!! They make a wonderful console seat so your pup can still be really close to you. There is a regular size (up to 6 lb dog) and a larger one for a van/truck (up to 11 lbs). My babies LOVE this seat. We just got the Snoozer My Buddy Lookout as we'll be taking a long road trip and they can both fit in that with lots of space!!

| I recommend it too! I got pulled over by the police because I was driving with Jazzie on my lap, hanging her head out the window. The police office was very nice, and gave me a warning, and petted Jazzie and that night I found the Look Out Buddy and ordered one ASAP. Jazzie love it! We own 2. One for my SUV and one for Dan's car. I can fit all 3 in one seat - a bit crowded but they don't seem to mind.

| Wow, I never knew it was illegal to drive w/a pup in your lap! I see people doing this all the time and have to admit that I'm guilty of it as well at times. |

| Tatum loves her console lookout carseat. I refuse to drive anywhere without her in it. Well, we do go to my MIL's without it but she lives down at the end of our driveway. Even then, if the seat is not sitting up on the console, Tatum just sits on the console. I've told this story before but it's worth retelling..... When my toy poodle was only about 3 months old (years ago) I was in an accident where I rolled my car about 3 or 4 times. Dax (my poodle) was the cause of it..... hate to blame the liitle booger but he was running back and forth in the front of the car with me trying to keep him still. I hit the edge of a gravel road and couldn't keep the car on the pavement. When I came to a stop, with the car laying against a tree, driver side up and me hanging from my seatbelt, I was so relieved to see he was down on the passenger side's window covered in my schoolbooks but unharmed. Scared the you know what out of me. I was nervous every time I had to drive with him again after that. I didn't know about doggie carseats until I got Tatum. I highly recommend one..... I love the console lookout but not all cars work well with one of those. I got that kind specifically so she'd be close and so that someone could sit in the passenger side too.

| i just purchased a lookout carseat from PETCO online for around $68. It is the lookout 2 with the tray at the bottom. Sells for about $100 online at other sites, but with a promotion coupon and the sale (it ends today! hurry!), it came out to around $68. http://www.petco.com/Shop/SearchResu...okout+car+seat promotion code is: PETCOA (15% off $65 or more online purchase). |
