| carriers for male pet owners i'll be flying with my yorkie in the upcoming month and I was wondering if any of you could give me suggestions on a nice carrier that will act as an airline carrier as well as a casual carrier. i'm a male pet owner so i'm looking for a carrier that doesn't look feminine. i've seen a lot of purse looking ones. any suggestions?

| I LOVE the Sturdibags Pet Carrier They come in many colors, I have the plain black... they are super light, very comfortable for the pet, and don't look at all feminine unless you choose pink or something. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I'm a guy, and I use something like this. Outward Hound Roll Along Pet Carrier and Backpack I love it because it can be used as a carrier, a backpack, even a car seat. Mine pushes the limits of some airline restrictions, but I've never had anyone question it. It has one thicker side and one narrow side, so I push the narrow side under the seat and let the thicker side stick out a little bit. Mine is the "Snoozer" brand, but I couldn't find a good link.

| Thanks for the suggestions. I found a site Sleepypod® Home I think I'll get the "Air" brand since it's made especially for air travel. It's a little expensive, but it's getting a lot of good reviews.

| Check out Celltei and Petflys before you buy the pod. I love the Celltei carriers and there are plenty of models to choose from to ensure a manly looking carrier. They are wellmade and if you check their clearance section you can get some amazing deals. You also get a nice variety of type of carrier there. I have not owned one of these as I have an excellent flying carrier already (Longaberger but no longer being made). Thought you might like this one: Classic Pet-on-the-Go (There are a couple of these in the Specials section for a much lower price). I have had a Petflys and they are extremely well made and plenty sturdy for flying. I can give you a personal recommendation for this carrier and now it comes in a couple of styles that are nice and manly and more busniess like in appearance. They are well known for the cutesy carriers they also make. I had one of these in small and decided to let it go and get the Longaberger as it nicely fits two of mine together. But it was hard to sell it since it was such a nice quality carrier. I thught you might like the Rhino Resort City Girl: Welcome To Pet Fly's - Trendy, Edgy, Airline approved pet carriers for traveling in style, comfort and safety on board a plane, train, automobile or just hanging out with you. I picked these two as I think a sturdier bag is needed for flying. You want oen that has sides that won't sag in on top of them like some do when you put them down and just in case, someone tries to push their bag into yours, they seem better protected. I love the pods too from what I have seen online but I have just never seen one in person. So, hard for me to give a or . They do look like they would be an excellent little traveling home though. My Longaberger has the extended handle and two wheels for ease in airport transit. I rarely use that, but it also comes with a heavy shoulder strap and the shourt strap on top of it. It opens from one end and the entire front side zips open too. There is also an outside zippered pocket for paperwork/treats but it only has one halter srap/tether inside. I know I said this one was discontinued but these are things you might want to look at in another bag. I actually saw one similar at Target for $69 Rolling Backpack for Pets : Target or Sage I-GO2 (TRAVELER) : Target quite a bargain! After all of that, I just googled the sleepypod and it does look pretty hard to beat! If you do get it, pls post a review. I would love to hear from someone who is actually using it. Looks like it could double nicely as your crate when you get to a hotel room or visiting at someone else's home.

| My husband and I are going to take our dogs to Sweden. We bought two black Jet Set carriers - one in small, one in medium. I like them. Good quality, nice blanket inside for the dogs and lots of ventilation. They can also be used in the car and can be attached to the seat which is great! Safety is so important, I think they've done a good job with these ones. here's the link: PetEgo : Relentless Italian Style

| Wow, I really like the PetEgo bags. I actually purchased the ARGO Aero-Pet from Teafco - Official Site - World Famous Pet Products. They were having a Black Friday special on their website. The bag retails for $115 and I was able to get $45! It came out to $63 including shipping. I just got it this past Tuesday and I love it. It's made out of high quality material. I'm getting my yorkie used to it by having him sniff it and carrying him around in it. Here's the link: Welcome to Teafco

| which ever carrier you get, be sure you get the dog(s) use to it before traveling. Use it to carry them to the car or mail box. Anything fun. Try to get them to be in the crate while in the car. You want to turn the crate into their safe place. Then when you are in the airplane, if something scares them, they won't start barking to get out because they will want to be in the crate instead.
