| KoolerAir for you car while traveling??? We will be traveling to Florida from Indiana in a few weeks and was concerned about the car getting warm/hot if we stop somewhere. I did a search and found this "KoolerAir" that fits over a cooler full of ice and you put this device so the coolness of the ice cools the car. You plug it in the cigeratte lighter so you don't have to keep the car running. My question is, has anyone used this before? My other question is if you leave your furbaby in the car, are you concerned about them hitting the unlock button. I'm concerned about her hitting the button and someone taking her. Has anyone, went on vacation and how do you handle it all? Any advise would be great! Thanks

| I refuse to leave Couver in the car because it would only take one second for a thief to break my window and steal him. He goes in his bag with me everywhere or stays at home if he cant come in his bag. I rarely ever leave him at home because he loves travelling in the bag. It is not worth the risk to leave a pup in the car

| I wouldn't leave them in the car alone. I am so afraid someone will take them, I just wouldn't take the chance. I make it a point to never leave anything in the car that I couldn't live without. I have had my car broken into for some CDs and other small things. It was on the parking lot at work while a few hundred people were on the premisis having a work picnic. It was right dead across from the guard shack with several guards watching the lot. They didn't even see it. I would not leave the babies in the car for any reason ever. Someone stole a car here awhile back and didn't realize it had a dog in it. They pitched the crate out of the car and the crate was found and the dog was never found. The people were on vacation visiting here from out of state. They kept returning looking for their dog and the news picked up the story whenever they came back looking. Sad story. They were heartbroken. I know they wished they had never left their baby in the car alone after that. I don't mean to scare you but you should realize that this could happen. Please be really careful if you do decide to leave them in the car.

| Thanks all...I wasnt going to leave her in while we were gone for a long time. I was just thinking if we ran into get food or gas. I know that the car can heat up quick and I wanted something that would keep the car cool. I'm actually looking forward to traveling with her...Thanks again

| Oh my gosh...I didn't realize! I will certainly keep her near me at all times! I guess I'm just not sure I'm comfortable "sneaking" her in places....I don't like the idea of getting caught! (I'm a chicken, I guess) I know my husband is concerned also because he's wanting to see some stuff on the way down. What do you do in that senerio? Does anyone leave them at the hotel's....I'm not going to do that either...just wondering...I'd be afraid of management taking her if she was barking or just because she's just so darn cute!

| If it were me and I wanted to sightsee a lot where the pups can't go, I would leave them at home with a trusted friend or relative. I am just too afraid to leave them anywhere that I can't be with them. Maybe I am too cautious but I would rather be too cautious than sorry if something happened to them. Good luck with whatever you decide.

| I just got my yorkie, but a couple things came to mind when I was in a situation like this last week: - All my windows are tinted 5%, besides the windshield which is at 35%, so yorkie sees out, no one sees in. - Most modern cars disable current flow to the 12V power socket (the 'cigarette lighter' socket) when the engine is off, so I took the time to hardwire a switch in from my battery into the cabin, which directly powers his heat pad (and the rest of the cabin, since it's wintertime) - Air flow into the cabin is circulated by leaving the defrost on before shutting off the engine. - I foam-padded my interior so as to reduce road-noise (a little overkill in a Q7), but that works both ways, so no one can HEAR my yorkie, either. Really in this scenario the only difference between leaving my yorkie home or in the car is that someone can break into the car. But then again Audi's theft deterrent systems work very well, plus people can break into homes just as easily as cars, not to mention my little friend gets to watch people outside!
