| Flying with 2? Hi everyone. So I wanted to get my baby a little sister some time at the end of this year or early next. Here's my question: can you travel with 2 animals that are listed as therapy dogs? My baby is a therapy dog and she's allowed to fly with me on my lap...depending on how the airline is feeling. Some times she has to stay in her carrier. But I don't know how airlines feel about taking 2 therapy dogs. Does anyone has any experience with this? Also, if that doesn't work out, how possible is it to fly with 2 babies in one carrier without the airline knowing? I fly international, so I would have certificates for both babies when I get to customs. I can't say they're litter mates because my current baby is a Chihuahua. LOL! So any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you everyone for your help. This issue is what is really keeping me from being 100% sure of getting a new baby. If this doesn't work out, I guess I'll have to wait a few more years to get another baby.

| I think our best bet is to call the airline company and ask. I've heard you can take two in a carrier, then I heard they would have to be mom and baby of no more than 8 weeks, then I heard only one dog per person (which is more reasonable).

They did say on their airline that you have to call ahead to register your pet and reserve your spot. But when you call, they say that you just have to show up 4 hours in advance. But I've had friends who show up with their pets and their pets get rejected. It's same day authorization, which is super annoying because you can never be sure if your pet can travel. I'm going to call the airline tomorrow and see what they say. But I'm just curious about how many therapy dogs I can have.

| I believe as of right now, southwest and to my knowledge only southwest allows 2 in one carrier for one price. I believe it is 75 dollars.

I read the airline's rules and they said it's only 1 dog per person, unless it's 2 puppies or kittens under 6 months of age. I can't just the whole, "they're siblings" thing because my baby Itzel is a Chihuahua and her sister would be a Yorkie. I can always say they had different fathers. LOL! Would it work if I just tell the airline about 1 baby and not the other...but have health certificate, etc. for both for when I go through customs?

| the rules I read only had stipulations of same species 2 in a carrier. in other words 2 dogs or 2 cats. nothing about age or siblings. I'm going to recheck their site. oh, unless you're talking about an airline other than southwest....nevermind...LOL

| LOL! Yes, I was talking about another airline. Mex. to be specific. I don't think I can say both doggies are therapy dogs, can I?

| Yes, when I flew SouthWest there was a couple sitting next to me that had two Malteses with them. The said that they had to call a head and book it, but that they were allowed to bring 17 lbs of dog with them. Therefore they were able to put their 5lbs maltese and 10 lbs maltese in the same carrier and the airline was ok with that. |

| That's really great of the airline. Too bad they don't fly from Mexico to the States. I think I'm allowed 1 dog up to 22 pounds in the cabin. But it's weird because when you look at their site in Spanish and in English it says different things, or lacks information. On the Spanish part it says you can have only 1 kennel per passenger, but it doesn't say the number of pets you can have. On the English part it says you can have up to 22 pounds of pet per kennel. But I just noticed something: it says that only 1 pet is allowed per person if the dog is going to be put in cargo. My baby never flies in cargo. I guess that's a loop hole.
