| Traveling with Yorkie- suggestions for a carrier? We will be traveling to Florida in late august using JetBlue. Does anyone know or has used a carrier you know of that I can take? I went to Pet Smart today and none of the one's they had were within the measurements. I've been reading a lot about "no one checks the measurements" but we are flying out of an unfamilar airport, and it is the first year Jet Blue is operating out of this particular airport- I don't know if this would make them any more stingent on rules and guidelines and don't want to run into any trouble since I have no one who could possible take the dog. The measurements are 17x12.5x8. This is just enough (or barely) for Sammy who is 11 lbs. and the combined weight has to be less than 20 lbs. Any ideas? Thanks |

| We use the Sherpa Delta Deluxe carrier, which is airline approved. It got great reviews on YT and on Amazon. |

London loved her carrier. We followed the recommendation of others and left the carrier out for a few weeks before the first trip, and gave London treats and praise when she went in it. I also took her to a local park a few times, using the carrier. She learned to associate the carrier with good things. Now she jumps in it voluntarily! Have a great trip! | |

| A small fits up to 8lbs and that's the one I have. It's not stiff so if you need to scrunch it a bit to fit it under the seat that's fine. Usually what the airline requires is dual ventilation and for the dog to be able to turn around in the carrier.

| It seems that Sherpa is the favorite- wish I had asked before buying, but I'm happy with what I got too, so it's all good Just wanted to let you know know that my travels on Airtran went smoothly with the sturdibag size large- it fit fine under the seat and my new little boy was comfy and had plenty of room. The stewards and stewardesses were really nice and brought him water. I did keep him in his carrier during the flight and he just slept almost the whole way. |

| I have had a Sherpa Deluxe carrier for about 7 years. We bought it for my cat , Otis, when we first got him. We've never flown with it but I remember seeing where it was airline approved, too. Of course that was before the stricter guidelines but I don't see why it still wouldn't be. |

YT 500 Club Member | I use a Bergan Comfort Carrier and have been very happy with it. Meg is 4.5 lbs and does really well in the size small. I actually saw a Bergan knock-off at Target for like $19 or something. It was exactly the same as the carrier I have, just half the price. Looked like really good quality, too.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I love love LOVE Celltei carriers. If you check their clearance/sale section, there are incredible deals on pricey carriers.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Oh my goodness. I have about 10 different bags. I love my Cellti--I have a stroller for it too. I bring out a bag to go to the groomer and I have 6 or 7 dogs jump in the bag. Itzi hasn't seen a bag he doesn't want to go out in. For airline travel I use a Sherpa bag that is collapsible--so I can put it in my luggage for one way trips. |

| So quick question: with these Sherpa bags, is it possible to squish it down by like, 3 inches? My airline has a max height of 8 inches and most of the Sherpa bags I have seen are 10.5 to 11 inches. I am looking at the AKC double carrier, in case I get a new puppy sometime this year. Thanks for the help.
